Holden Beach Police Department and Town Hall

Due to the rapid growth of Holden Beach and its surrounding areas, the Town retained Stewart Cooper Newell Architects to renovate their existing Town Hall and add an almost 13,000 square feet addition including a new Council Chambers and Police Department. The Council Chambers will provide 142 public seats and spaces for 9 council members and staff. The new police facility will alleviate the department’s prior space constraint issues. It was designed to accommodate future expansion and growth for personnel and storage.

This facility contains several sustainable elements from a pervious paving system to recycled content throughout the interior and exterior. To save on energy costs, high efficiency lighting and HVAC systems were incorporated. The new facility also contains a reflective roof that greatly reduces the facility’s absorption of heat.
