Fire/Rescue/EMS Station 2 for the City of Washington is the first Capital Improvement project in a series recommended by the Public Safety Space Analysis Study performed by Stewart Cooper Newell Architects. The Substation will greatly improve response times to recently annexed areas of the City and help the Department maintain their current ISO classification.
The three-bay facility contains six sleep rooms, dayroom, kitchen, exercise area, training/community room, and administrative offices. Stewart Cooper Newell Architects helped the City of Washington complete this project as a USDA Rural Development financed project. The station construction should complete in Winter 2007/2008. Due to its coastal location, this facility was designed to be hurricane resistant.
