Upper Hominy Fire and Rescue Department, Candler, NC

The new Upper Hominy Fire & Rescue Department station will have three (or four if they accept the alternate) double loaded bays, decontamination facilities, a shop, storage and EMS storage for first responders. In addition there is a training room, auxiliary kitchen, offices, single and bunk sleep rooms, day room with kitchen, exercise room, laundry and toilet and shower facilities. An outside covered patio is adjacent to the training room, auxiliary kitchen and day room. The station plans to relocate the existing emergency horn and generator so they can maintain operations during power outages. The outside materials of red brick, gray split face block, metal wall panels and roof and red accents created a clean, modern design for this new fire and rescue station.
