For the South Plattsburgh Fire Department, Stewart Cooper Newell was brought onto provide programming and schematic design services. As the fire specialists, SCNA took on the responsibility to provide South Plattsburgh with a fully functional design while working with a tight budget. Originally, South Plattsburgh planned on making renovations and additions to their existing facility and constructing a new one. However, their final decision, due to additional funding from the USDA, consisted of the construction of two new facilities. The project is now in the Construction Documents Phase. SCN-Architects served as the design consultant for the local firm, Architectural & Engineering Design Associates.
