Lewisville, NC Fire Department

The new Lewisville Fire Station is built for growth. The building is being designed to accommodate future expansion for additional vehicle bays, sleep rooms, and bathrooms if the demand ever arises. By utilizing a wrap-around porch, small scaled building elements, and common residential exterior materials, this two bay drive through station will cleanly integrate into the established residential area. The design respectfully acknowledges its neighbors by providing residential design elements and orienting the major fire department functions to the rear of the site.

The new station provides a large common office, a staff office, community room, exercise room, open kitchen, dining room, day room, four separate sleep rooms and two private bathrooms. Two drive through apparatus bays are planned with the expansion of two more planned into the design. A 660 s.f. mezzanine is oriented off of the bays with integrated training tools built into the design. A tool room, decon room, and an outside storage room are located directly off of the apparatus bays. A diesel generator will be able to power the entire building and all spaces will be protected with a sprinkler system. The Lewisville Fire Station will provide lower response times for decades to come in an ever growing suburb of Winston-Salem, NC.
