Stewart-Cooper-Newell Architects teamed with Kirkpatrick Architecture Studio to renovate Denton’s historic, abandoned power-generating plant into a new Central Fire Station. The new facility had to be built upon the existing foundation, adjacencies had to be determined within the two-story layout, the apparatus bay had to be fitted onto the site, large windows had to be accommodated in the design, and the historic nature of the building had to be preserved.
